VENUE SPOTLIGHT: Jane's Carousel

Our clients allow us the opportunity to work at so many amazing venues in New York City. We are starting a new venue spotlight series on The Guest List to showcase some of the coolest locations we’ve had the pleasure to work in and where we can help you host your next event!
This first venue I’m going to discuss is one of the most picturesque locations in the 5 boroughs. Jane’s Carousel is a really unique place, open to the public on most days to ride, and open for semi-private parties during the day and private events after hours. Located right on the East River directly between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, Jane’s Carousel is located in Dumbo Brooklyn, a neighborhood that has exploded with restaurants and things to do over the last few years. It’s become a really iconic location with many wedding and commercial photoshoots, proposals, weddings, birthday parties, and tons of other events happening in and around the Carousel.
I’ve written before about how different types of venues have different offerings and requirements. Jane’s Carousel is a venue that gives you use of the Carousel, and the 4 walls around it. You get use of electric, 4 folding tables and 4 benches, and dedicated staff members to operate the Carousel for your guests. You also get use of the surrounding patio (weather depending), which has incredible views of the bridges and the Manhattan skyline. If you decide to host an event there, you’ll need to think about bringing in food, beverage, glassware or paper products, dessert and displayware, décor, tablecloths, additional tables and chairs, kitchen equipment, and other logistical items. You may want to hire in entertainment or other vendors and will need to coordinate logistics for and with them.
You’ll definitely want to bring in at least a Luxe Life Event Coordinator for help with set up, running the party, and clean up. For private events after hours, you’ll want to bring in a Luxe Life Event Planner who can handle all of the planning as well as bringing all of the décor, food, beverage, arranging rentals, entertainment, and other vendors, and anything else you need! We see it at every event we plan – as the host of the event, you do not want to be worrying about all of the details that are needed to host the event such as lugging cases of water and trays of food from your car. You don’t want to be straining yourself setting everything up in time. You definitely don’t want to forget to sing Happy Birthday or cut the cake!
